James Dean Dilley, 62, a Brush native, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver after a long illness. Jimmy was born March 20, 1959, to Vernon and Gwen Dilley.
Survivors include his mother, Gwen Dilley and sister Lynn Dilley of Brush. He is also survived by his aunt, Evelyn Kachel of Federal Way, Washington, Dorothy Wade of Northglenn, Colorado and uncle George Hall of Greeley, Colorado and many cousins. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Dilley; and his grandparents Fred and Rose Hall and Jim and Bessie Dilley all of Brush.
Jimmy graduated from Brush High School in 1977. Jimmy was a partner and owner of Dilley's Sand and Gravel and Mobile Pre-mix Concrete Company up until his death. He also had a security business for several years. He served on the Brush Rodeo Board. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectables. He loved music and collected 45 records and played them on his jukebox. He had a large concession business. His passion was his concession stand and making cotton candy for people. During the summers he spent countless hours at the county fair and the Fourth of July Rodeo working in his stand.
Jimmy will always be remembered for his compassion for others.
The family will hold a private get together at a later time.
