Jimmy Eugene
Doane
Jul 28, 1953 — Jan 9, 2024
Jimmy Eugene Doane was born 07/28/1953 to Marvin "Sonny" and LaVeta Doane. He attended Brush Schools, then moved to a farm South of Otis in 1963, and attended Arickaree School, graduating with the class of 1972. It was at Arickaree School that he started dating his wife Darlene Vaughn and the two were married on April 2, 1973. To this union three daughters were born, Melissa, Kari, and Heather.
Jim was a hardworking man and worked a variety of jobs including construction, butchering, welding, and in the oilfields. He started his own business in 2001 called JD Construction. He was fair and honest with his customers and much of his customer base was return business.
Fishing was Jim's favorite hobby, but his primary love was his family. He was the best cook which he learned from his mother. He made homemade candy every year for his family. He loved camping, fishing and spending holidays with his family. Jim didn't live a perfect life but he led an exciting one. He always rushed to the aid of others without judgement. He was generous and never met a stranger. He loved to have fun and his grandchildren gave him ample opportunities to play with abandon.
Jim was proceeded in death by his father Marvin Doane, mother Laveta Draegert, and his step father Dale Draegert.
Survivors include his wife Darlene, sister Barb (Terry) Garrett; brothers: Marlin (BJ) Doane and Terry (Kala) Doane; daughters Melissa Acosta, Kari (Jose) Contreras, and Heather (Nick) Donez, and eight grandchildren: Dylan, Jordan, Kendall Acosta; Alexis (Hannah) Contreras-Therrien, Mia Contreras, Marcus Contreras; Hannah Clemmons and Jeremiah Donez, as well as two great granddaughters: Rosaleah and Elise; many nieces and nephews.
