Obituary

Joan Marlene Jolliffe, 81, lifelong resident of the Fort Morgan community, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016, following a short illness.

She was born October 4, 1935, in Fort Morgan to Godfrey & Helen (Scheidt) Weimer.

Joan graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1953. After high school she earned a Certificate in Interior Design.

On February 7, 1954, she married Francis D. "Pat" Jolliffe in Fort Morgan.

Joan worked as a bookkeeper at the Jolliffe Mortuary until retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan.

Joan was a past president and member of PEO Chapter S, a member of Eastern Star, a past president and member of Hyperion, a past president and member of Friday Club, and served on the Library Board, and the Fort Morgan Community Hospital Board for several years.

She enjoyed playing bridge, & traveling. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Jody Kind (Gene) of Fort Morgan; grandchildren Katherine Gertge (Toby), and Patrick Crossley; great grandchildren Ella Gertge, Elias Gertge; and one sister Beverly Tumbleson and her husband Joseph.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law Richard Jolliffe (Lou) of Scottsbluff; one niece Margaret Tumbleson; and nephews David Tumbleson, Jeffrey Jolliffe, James Jolliffe, Patrick Jolliffe, Gregory Jolliffe, and Mark Jolliffe.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Francis D. "Pat" Jolliffe; daughter Laurie Jolliffe; step-father David Schreiner; nephew Steven Tumbleson; and her parents.

A graveside memorial service will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan. Family prefers memorial gift donations to the Heritage Foundation or to the Fort Morgan United Methodist Church.
