Joan C. Swanson, 68, longtime Fort Morgan resident, died Monday evening, August 25, 2014 at her home. Joan has battled cancer for the last year. A memorial service to honor Joan is planned for Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. She was born July 28, 1946 in Cleveland, OH to Alex & Helen Helmecy. Joan married Steven Swanson in Casper, WY on February 24, 1983. They moved to Fort Morgan from Bozeman, MT in 1997. Joan is survived by her daughter, Cassi Swanson of Fort Morgan.
