Joann "Jo" Snelson, 70, longtime area resident, died Thursday September 29, 2011 at her home in Ft. Morgan. She was born April 1, 1941 in Denver to Herchell and Jessie (Gee) Curtis. She married Bruce Snelson on November 26, 1960 in Arvada, Colorado. They moved from Denver to Ft. Morgan in 1961. Jo enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed traveling to Black Hawk and to Las Vegas where she would try her luck at the casinos. Survivors include her husband Bruce of Ft. Morgan, her son Kevin Snelson of Oklahoma, two sisters, Colleen Johnson of Arvada and Linda Paulsen of Westminster, one brother Jack Curtis who lives in Kentucky, her ex daughter-in-law Betty Snelson and three grandchildren. Joann was preceded in death by her son, Bret and her parents. There will be a visitation on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 2 until 5 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
