Joe W. Cole, 81, longtime, Fort Morgan resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He was born August 27, 1935 in Jennings, OK to Sam and Oma (Mills) Cole.

Joe married the love his life, Norma Jean on January 6, 1955 in Stillwater, OK. He spent his working days driving truck for Turner Brothers Trucking where he received the highest possible safety award. He was member of the local Elks Lodge 1143. He spent his free time going off -roading in his Jeep in the mountains. He took extra time and care on his home, especially the lawn.

He is survived by two sons; Dusky Cole of Fort Morgan and Chris (Brenda) Cole of Omaha, NE; one daughter-in-law Cathy Cole -Geist of Fort Morgan; one brother, Sam Cole of Ada, OK; one grandson, Michael (Lisa) Cole of Keensburg, CO; two great-grandchildren, who he was very proud of, Matthew and McKayla Cole; and several extended family members.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; one son, Greg Cole; two sisters, Ida Winder and Rachel Whitney and his parents.

Inurnment will be at Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan on December 23, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.
