JOE M. DOMINGUEZ, 80, lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, died Wednesday evening, January 2, 2008 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. Dominguez was born January 28, 1927 in Weldona to Jose & Juana (Moreno) Dominguez. He married Julia Baltazar on January 13, 1950 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II; once in Pennsylvania and once in Japan in the Occupational Forces. Mr. Dominguez worked at the Fort Morgan Times as a Pressman for nearly 37 years before his retirement in 1983. Mr. Dominguez was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan and the V.F.W. Post 2551, Fort Morgan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to music. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Julia Dominguez of Fort Morgan; his son, Larry Dominguez of Woodland Park, CO; two daughters, Debra Shariff of Glenwood, MD, and Cynthia Dominguez of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Joveta Franco of Fort Morgan; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cecilia Rodriguez and Lucille Perez; and one brother, Paul Dominguez. Recitation of the Rosary will be Monday, January 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 AM, both at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church with Military Honors conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2551. Cremation will follow. Memorial gifts may be made to Saint Helena Catholic Church.
