Jose (Joe) Herrera, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27th, 2018 at Ebenezer Lutheran Care Center.

He was born to Librado and Teodora Rodriguez Herrera in Rio Hondo, Texas.

Joe moved to Brush in 1952 where he first worked as a farmhand for several local farmers, before going to work at a large cattle feeding company,

then to Sigmans meatpacking company. Before retirement, he worked at the oil fields for Exeter and Caza Drilling Companies.

He managed his own small farm and loved working with his cattle. He enjoyed his visits with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Carl and Phillip, daughters, Angela, and Regina, 3 brothers, Rufino, Librado, Jesus, and 3 sisters, Maria, Lupe, Teodora.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Joseph Lee, and Francis, and 3 brothers, Paulo, Antonio, and Miguel, and his parents.

He was a member of St. Mary's catholic church. At Joe's request, no service will be held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Heer
