Joe G. Moreno, 62, returned to his heavenly home on Monday, March 16, 2015 after a courageous battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Joe was born to Juan and Elva Moreno on June 26, 1952 in Brownsville, Texas. His family relocated to Garden City, Kansas where they grew up. He received his diploma in 1971 in Pueblo, CO. In 1986, Joe and his wife, Val of 32 years, moved to Fort Morgan to pursue a job in management at Cargill, where he was employed for 26 years. In 2013, he established Moreno Transport Trucking. Joe was a man of strong faith, integrity, and work ethics. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley's, working in the yard, watching sports, and cooking. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Joe is survived by his wife Val Moreno; his sons, Jorel Moreno, and Ian Moreno and his wife, Alyssa, all of Fort Morgan; his daughter, Leticia Cooper and her husband, Rich of Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Alycia Perez, Anaya Cooper, Jasef Moreno, and soon to be born, Emirlee Joe Moreno; his parents, Juan and Elva Moreno of Kansas; and brothers, John, Jesse, Paul, Mark, and Aaron Moreno, all of Kansas; and his baby sister, Norma Plummer of Oklahoma. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Louie Moreno. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 20th at 11:00 AM at Life Fellowship, 17723 Morgan County Road 20 in Fort Morgan with Pastor Kelly Cupples officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. In honor of Joe's love of motorcycle riding, Harley Davidson apparel is welcomed and encouraged at the service. The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
