JOEL CANTU, 25, of Fort Morgan, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at his home. He was born November 10, 1985 in Slaton, TX to Peter & Gloria (Garcia) Cantu. He moved to Fort Morgan from Texas with his family in 1992. Joel graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 2005 and then attended Morgan Community College where he obtained a certificate in construction and business in 2007. He enjoyed sightseeing, being with his friends and family, playing video games, and social networking. Survivors include his mother, Gloria Cantu of Fort Morgan; his father, Peter Cantu of Electra, TX; five brothers, Johnny Cantu and Adrian Garcia, both of Fort Morgan, Allen Cantu of Evans, and Jonathan Cantu and Victor Cantu, both of Greeley; one sister, Angela Garcia of Lubbock, TX; his maternal grandmother, Helen Garcia of Fort Morgan; and his paternal grandmother, Josephina Cantu of Electra, TX. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Victor Garcia; and his paternal grandfather, Juan Cantu. Visitation will be Friday, July 1st from 4 – 6 PM and Saturday, July 2nd from 9 – 11 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2nd at 11:00 AM, also at the chapel. Services will conclude at the chapel followed by cremation. Private Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
