Joey E. Hanson,  80, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Sunset Manor in Brush following a lengthy illness.  He was born December 25, 1937, in Denver, CO to Harvey & Edith Hanson.

Prior to retirement, Joey worked as a carpet layer – mostly in Denver & Greeley area.  On February 19, 1982, Joey married Ina in Greeley.

Joey enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football (especially the Denver Broncos) and baseball.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan.

Survivors include his wife, Ina of Brush; children, LeeAnn (Steve) Samuels; Wendy (Dean) Bissinger; Cathy Hanson; Eric Hanson, and Carrie.  Also by 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great – great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by 1 brother and his parents.

At Joey's request, no services will be held.  An informal reception will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 11 - 2 at the Brush United Methodist Church, 1701 Edmunds Street in Brush.
