Obituary

John O. Cable, age 84, life resident of Morgan and Washington Counties, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born June 1, 1923 in Harrisburg, CO to Harley and Mary Vivian Cable. He served in the US Army during WWII. On June 1, 1952 he married Faye M. Griese at Last Chance, CO. He was a farmer/rancher and also worked at the beef plant and the sugar factory. He ran the Last Chance Motel and later Crain's Café. Mr. Cable was a member of the VFW #2551 and the Morgan Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. and fried chicken as his favorite meal. John is survived by his wife, Faye of Brush; four children: Vivian Reed, and her husband, Clarence, of Greeley, Diana Partney, and her husband Jim, of Yuma, CO, Gloria Webb, and her husband, Ken, of Brush; and Wesley Cable, and his wife, Nancy, of Cheyenne, WY; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Virginia and Barbara, and 1 brother, Harl. A Memorial Service for Mr. Cable will be Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Morgan Church of the Nazarene in Fort Morgan, CO at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial gifts may be given to the American Heart Association or the Morgan Church of the Nazarene c/o the Heer Mortuary in Brush.
