John Hallahan, 88, lifelong area resident, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver. He was born March 28, 1921 in Gary, Colorado to Cornelius and Theresa (Geisert) Hallahan. He married Margaret Steyaert on December 26, 1950 in Brush. John was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Mr. Hallahan was also a member of the Brush School Board from 1967-69, on the Badger-Beaver Board, a 4 H leader and a partner in A & H Drilling. He enjoyed farming, family gatherings and his dog Buddy. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Brush; two daughters, Trish August of Brush and Susan Kauffmann of Thornton, two sons, Leo Hallahan and Dennis Hallahan both of Brush, one brother, Pat Hallahan of Texas, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Rosary Vigil on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
