John F. LaFaver, 70, of Greeley, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Pathway Hospice in Loveland, CO. He was born February 18, 1947, in Brush to Thomas & Gloria (Steyaert) LaFaver.

When John was a child the LaFaver family moved to the Denver area where he graduated from South High in 1966. John joined the US Navy in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. On February 19, 1977, John married Susan Karst in Hoisington, KS. John worked for NCR Corporation and retired as a general manager after 35 years. John was a member of the Catholic Church.

John's true passion was riding his Harley. He also enjoyed muscle cars and spending time at the lake with friends, family and his wife by his side.

Survivors include his wife Susan of Greeley; daughter, Amy LaFaver of Orlando, FL; and 2 brothers, Don (Carol) of Golden, CO and Ray (Gigi) of Reno, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society in memory of John, c/o the Heer Mortuary.
