Obituary

John W. Shull (Wes) born in Steamboat Springs on June 29, 1924 passed at home in Fort Morgan, Colorado on February 18, 2017.   A World War II Marine he served in the Pacific theater including the battles of Iwo Jima and several battles in the Marianas Islands.  Most of his working life was spent in ranching in Morgan County and in Gunnison, Colorado.    He is survived by daughter, Catherine J. Shull of Fort Morgan; son, John W. Shull, Jr. (Sheri) of Nine Mile Falls, Washington; Grandchildren John W. Shull, III of Tucson, Arizona; Christina J. Friend (Zach) of Santa Cruz, California and Michael J. Shull of Washington, D. C. plus his great grandson Elliott S. Friend of Santa Cruz, California.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years Phyllis I. Shull (nee Teter) and his sisters Helen Brunelli, Hazel Bosse, Marjorie Asnicar, Ruby Yearous and Mae Asnicar plus two brothers Roy and Harold Shull.

Graveside Funeral Services will be at the Brush Memorial Cemetery in Brush, Colorado at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2017.
