John Donald Stitt, 88, passed away suddenly at East Morgan County Hospital on Sunday, March 15, 2015. He was born March 21, 1926 in Philadelphia, MS to John & Mary Stitt. Don married Katherine Ann Spomer on December 25, 1951 in Brush. Don farmed his whole life, was a member of the Morgan County Sheriff's Posse, and volunteered with the Morgan County Ambulance Service for twenty years. He was also an electrician and started his own company, Stitt Electric. In his younger years Don and Kathy enjoyed square dancing. Don loved spending time with his family most of all. Survivors include his wife, Katherine; two sons, Carl Stitt of Brush; John (Deb) Stitt of Fort Collins; one daughter, Karen Hawkins of Longmont. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, one brother, and his parents. A Funeral service will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush. Interment will follow at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
