John C. Toedtli 75 Longtime area resident, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born January 4, 1932 in Denver to William and Amelia (Bruckner) Toedtli. John married Barbara A. Leamy on September 15, 1951 in Boulder. She died July 18, 2003. John and Barbara moved from Boulder to Stoneham, CO in 1959. He was a member of Columbia Lodge #14 in Boulder, Colorado Consistory and El Jebel Shrine. He was also active in the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, the Water Board, the Soil Conservation District, the Drylanders Club and the Lion's Club. John enjoyed fishing, traveling, square dancing and his mules. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Shawcross and her husband Jim of Kersey, his son, Craig Toedtli and his wife Lynne of Brighton, one sister, Dorothy Roberts and her husband Bob of Divide, CO, grandchildren, Jason Shawcross and his fiancé Nacole Light of Greeley, Luke and Maggie Shawcross of Greeley and Connor and John Blake Toedtli of Brighton. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, one son, Conrad, one brother, Art and one sister, Eleanor Pressler. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Prairie High School in New Raymer. Services will conclude at the High School. Memorial Gifts may be made to the New Raymer FFA. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
