John David
Walkingstick
Sep 30, 1963 — Mar 10, 2020
John David Walkingstick
9-30-1963 3-10-2020
John came into this world as we all do, he left as we all hope to. Sharon Pierce, his mother, Nathanial Walkingstick, his father, as well as his two brothers Carl and Paul, welcomed him home. Aunt Mary Walkingstick and numerous cousins carry on the Walkingstick name in Stillwell, Oklahoma.
John moved to Eben Ezer in 1999. Up until then, he had a lot of life happen to him. Establishing himself at Eben Ezer didn't take long since John breathed every breath to volunteer. All Saints Church is where John devotedly served God and his neighbors.
The Eben Ezer community was his love where John gave endlessly of his time and energy. The people and staff all know his name, and he knew them by name. He also gave in the Brush community. Hours given with many organizations donating his time are to numerous to count; all well documented by the numerous thank you cards and certificates of appreciation. The Beetdigger Nation was well aware of John 's presence, by his work at the Friday night football games. The Beetdiggers were second only to his love of the Broncos.
Crocheting and needlepoint were his passion, highly skilled with stitches that were envied by most crocheters. John shared many of his creations with his neighbors. He loved to collect tea pots, tote bags and water bottles. His favorite collection however, was his stories of neighbors and staff that he had known over the years.
John is survived by all those he knew and loved him. Those people include his brother Donnie, Sister Sandalyn, Chaplain Ro, Jami and all the neighbors, friends and staff at Eben Ezer.
We will miss our dear friend, but those of us who know him, knows he's calling the biggest bingo game he's ever called.
A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery Interment Chapel (gazebo). Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium
