Jolene Work Meyer, lifetime resident of Morgan County, passed away Wednesday January 26, 2022, at home after battling a long illness.

Jody was born on June 16, 1953 in Brush, Colorado, to William and Thelma (Christensen) Work. She grew up on the family farm and held those memories dear to her heart. She married Alan Meyer, her high school sweetheart, on March 24, 1973 . She became the mother of two beautiful boys, Nolan and Beau, who were the light of her world. Jody worked at the law offices of Ed Brandenburg in Brush for many years until she began working for the Morgan County Commissioners, where she worked until she retired in 2020.

One of the most memorable and endearing parts of Jody was her laughter. Jody loved life and it showed in her constant laughter. People were important to Jody, she loved her friends and family dearly. Time spent with her kids and grandkids at their activities, traveling with her sister, card games and barbecues with friends and peaceful evenings on the back porch with Alan were all moments well spent for Jody. Jody loved living on the farm where she could be outside in the sunshine, help with the animals, read on the back porch and tend to her flowers and plants. Jody also loved her church and church family, spending time with God was something she looked forward to.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Alan Meyer; two children, Nolan Meyer and his wife Sarah, Beau Meyer and his wife Vanessa; four grandchildren, Jace, Ellie, Lucas and Lexxi Meyer; sister, Roxanne Sewald, and her husband Gary; sister-in-law, Patricia Spittal and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Terry Work and sister Shelly Work.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Fort Morgan United Methodist Church, and will conclude at the church.
