Joe Angel Martinez Jr., 49, longtime area resident, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

He was born April 4, 1967 in Fort Morgan to Jose and Herminia (Godino) Martinez Sr.

Joe was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan.

He enjoyed dancing, fishing, and barbecuing for family.

Survivors include his father, Jose of Fort Morgan, brothers, Adam Martinez (Cindy) of Fort Morgan, Lalo Martinez (Liberty), of Greeley, and Joseangel Martinez of Fort Morgan, sister, Annette Roth, (Scott) of Fort Morgan, step-daughter, Lytasha Scott of Denver, step-granddaughter, Alyscia Williams, three nieces, and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Herminia, and two brothers, Ed and Victor Martinez.

There will be a Rosary Vigil on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 starting at 6:00 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan.   Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
