Jose Manuel Benitez – Soto, 39, of Brush, died of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle collision on Friday, March 10, 2017, on Highway 36 near Byers, CO. He was born February 14, 1978, in Durango, Mexico to Manuel Benitez & Maria de Jesus Soto.

Manuel moved to Morgan County in 1995. At the time of his death, Manuel was a truck driver and a grain broker. He loved driving and working on his truck. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evelina Benitez; 3 children Alexsandra, Arly and Jaime all of Brush; his parents, Manuel & Maria of Durango, Mexico; 2 sisters, Ofelia Benitez, and Manuela Polendo; & 3 brothers, Martin, Jose Carmen, & Jose Miguel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 20, 2017, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary will be Sunday from 2 – 6 at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.
