On July 28,2022, Jose Ascencion Carrillo Martinez, "Don Chonito," a loving son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 86. Jose passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born May 27, 1936 to Tomasa Martinez and Jose Maria Carrillo in Guanacevi, Durango, Mexico. He then shortly moved over to Villa Ocampo, Durango, and then migrated to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Juana, and children: Maria, Monico, Norma, Isabel, David, Jose, Adriana, and Juan, and 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 4th from 4:00pm-6:00pm at St. Helena's Catholic Church, Monsignor Dining Hall in Fort Morgan, Colorado, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm.

Mass will be at 10:30am on Friday, August 5th at St. Helena's Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
