Jose Esteban Chavez Jimenez, 73, of Fort Morgan passed away peacefully Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan, CO. Jose was born in San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato, Mexico to Fortunato and Dominga Chavez.

Jose married the love of his life Maria Chavez on April 6, 1965 at San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato, Mexico. He was an outdoorsman and a hard worker. Jose had a smile of sunshine that warmed the hearts of all. He loved spending time with his family and family came first.

He is survived by his wife Maria, nine children, Jose Tomas (Sharon) Chavez, Julio (Silvia) Chavez, Jaime (Veronica) Chavez, Enrique (Veronica) Chavez, Vicente Antonio (Dora) Chavez, Mariana (Ector Ramirez) Chavez, Angel (Jenni Carbajal) Mills, Rosa Mills, Armando Mills, twenty-seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and five siblings.

His parents and his four siblings preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4-6 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan, with rosary to follow at 6PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens cemetery.
