Jose De La Cruz Sanchez, 75, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his home in Fort Morgan. He was born May 20, 1939 to Vidal & Manuela (Baeza) Sanchez. Jose has lived in the Fort Morgan area for nearly 50 years. He worked as a Section Man on the railroad for Union Pacific for the majority of his working life. Jose enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marie Sanchez; two daughters, Wendy Garcia, and her husband, Javier Baca, and Dacia Romero, and her husband, Mark; two step daughters, Dala Barton, and Tayna Rowton, and her husband, John; one step son, Dion Barton, and his wife, Carol, all of Fort Morgan; two brothers, Ireno Sanchez of Oginaga, Mexico, and Vidal Sanchez, and his wife, Erlinda of Sterling; two sisters, Paz Navarette, and her husband, Armando of Pecos, TX, and Tomasa Rodriguez, and her husband, Alfredo, of Oginaga, Mexico. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eladio Sanchez and Alfonso Sanchez. Visitation will be Sunday, June 22nd from 2 - 4 PM with a Rosary Vigil at 4:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 24th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
