Feb 24, 1945 — Apr 11, 2022
Fort Morgan
Judith Irene (Olson) Mesmer of Fort Morgan, Colorado passed away peacefully at her home on April 11, 2022.
Judy was born on February 24, 1945, in Brush. She was the 3 rd of 6 children born to the late Alfred (Bob) Olson and Irene Olson. As a child she resided on the family farm south of Brush. She graduated from Brush High School in 1963.
After graduating, Judy worked at EbenEzer and as a switch-board operator for Mountain Bell. She was married to David L Mesmer in Fort Morgan on August 7, 1965.
Judy was a lifelong resident of Morgan County and was a stay-at-home mom, relishing that role. She loved family and friends and enjoyed offering her home as the meeting place for family get-togethers. Later she loved surrounding herself with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy loved the Christmas season, and spent time hand crafting Old-World Santa Clause figures, and building Department 5 Christmas village scenes.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and by her 3 sisters: Elaine Meyer of Oceanside, Ca; Priscilla Callahan or Fort Morgan; and Diana Wood of Fort Morgan.
She is survived by her husband David, 3 children: Marcy Bosworth of River Falls, Wi and her husband Pete; Troy Mesmer of Conifer, Co and his wife Melody; and Leslie Ditter of Fort Morgan and her husband Shane; as well as 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Judy also leaves 2 loving brothers: David (Buck) Olson of Sioux City, IA, and John Olson and his wife Betty of Utica, Ka; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
There will be an open-house Celebration of Life on Friday April 29 th from 1pm-5pm in the Founders Room at Morgan Community College. A light luncheon will be served. Anyone wishing to bring a salad, side-dish, or dessert is encouraged to do so; and it will be greatly appreciated.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation be made to St Jude's Hospital.
