Juliana B. Duran (a.k.a. Julia or Judy), age 93, of Log Lane Village, Colorado, went to Heaven on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She was born in Golden, Colorado, on June 27, 1930, to Erasmo and Concha (Gomez) Buena.

Juliana was a strong woman of faith and character. She always gave above and beyond what was expected of her to her family and to her employment. Words cannot express the love her family had for her. As an expression of love for her family, Juliana hosted the holidays and encouraged everyone to visit while she prepared the meals. A selfless gesture. Memories of family gatherings will be cherished. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She cared for each in his/her own special way and often recounted stories of their visits.

Juliana married Joseph Cipriano Duran (deceased) on December 30,1948, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Her first career employment was as a Nurse's Aide at Eben-Ezer in Brush, Colorado. She was later employed at Fort Morgan Hospital. She was asked to monitor the ICU. Above and beyond the call of duty. Juliana and her husband, Joe, owned and managed La Paloma Blanca Restaurant. Cooking brought her great joy. After retirement from the restaurant, she was constantly asked, "Judy, when will you open the restaurant again? We miss your food!" It always brought joy to her. She and Joe owned the restaurant from 1976 through 1995.

Juliana enjoyed fishing, gardening her flowers, and she especially enjoyed sports (win or lose), namely: Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets and Avalanche. She would talk play-by-play with family members. Juliana was the player, the coach, and the referee.

Survivors include one sister, Josephine (Larry) Henry; three sons, Joe C. Duran, Jr. (Deb) of Thornton, Colorado; Larry (Renee) Duran of Thornton, Colorado; and Tom Duran of Fort Morgan, Colorado; three daughters, Gloria (Paul) Vowell of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Barbara (Will) Thompson of Springfield, Missouri; Debra (Manuel) Ortiz of Fort Morgan, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Juliana was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two brothers, Gabriel (Marsha) Buena and Erasmo, Jr. (Gloria) Buena; and one sister, Esther Wilson; one son, Ruben Duran; one daughter, Cheryl Cochran; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral is scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM, Morgan Church of the Nazarene, 7th and Meeker, Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Internment will follow in Memory Gardens.
