Junior Ralph Leist, 75, of Weldona, Colorado, passed away December 6, 2014 in Loveland, Colorado. Junior was born on July 9, 1939 in Algona, Iowa, to Ralph and Kathryn Leist as the eldest of six children. Junior met the love of his life Barbara Leist in 1972 in Fort Dodge, Iowa and they married on April 5th, 1980. Junior and Barb and their youngest child Troy moved from Fort Dodge to Commerce City, Colorado in 1979 where Junior provided for his family as a Master Mechanic for over 40 years and after retiring he could often be found assisting his local farmer friends in the shop and in the field. Junior was a motorcycle enthusiast and a bit of an adrenaline junkie in his younger days and also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and fixing up the lake front property that he and Barb purchased in 1992 at Jackson Lake Reservoir. His favorite times were spent with his family "hanging out at the lake"! Junior was a very kind man with a big heart and a great sense of humor who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a loving husband and father, an exceptional grandfather and a wonderful brother and uncle. To know him was to love him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Junior was preceded in death by his father Ralph Leist, his brother Donald Ray Leist, his sister Judy Kay Leist and a grandson, Stephen Hubbard. Junior is survived by his wife Barb of 44 years, sons Troy Leist, Andy Leist, and Doug Hubbard, daughters Rita Leist, Wendy Miranda, and Mary Beth (Chris) Constantine, mother Kathryn Leist, sisters Nancy Berry and Donna (Blair) Sorenson and brother Ed Leist. Also by his grandsons Ty Leist, Justin Leist, AJ Leist, Lee Pedersen and his granddaughters Morgan (Karl) Kembel, Brittney Leist, Heather Leist, Jody Leist, Natasha Miranda, Christine Miranda, Mercedes Miranda, Makala (Tom) Semke, Michelle (Tyler) Odom and Dakota Hubbard, as well as 22 great-grandchildren, his nieces and nephews and their families and many, many friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday December 11, 2014 at Heer Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Heer Mortuary in memory of Junior Leist.
