Karen June
Blake
Mar 6, 1957 — Jan 11, 2025
Karen Blake, born March 6, 1957, to James and Doris Chenoweth, passed away on January 11, 2025, after a courageous and short battle with breast cancer.
Karen was raised on a farm and ranch near Last Chance, Colorado. She graduated from Woodlin High School in 1975 and married Stanley Blake on June 6, 1975. Together they went through many ups and downs but always made life work for them. Karen worked for Banner Health for 31 years in Health Information Management. After her retirement she delivered flowers for The Flower Petaler.
Karen's love for her family was immeasurable and spending time with them was always her top priority. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren whether it was attending their sporting events, shopping sprees, watching movies together, boys' weekends with backyard campouts, riding in the golf cart and 4-wheeler. She always made every moment with all of her grandchildren special. Karen loved going for walks, coffee and lunch dates with friends, videography, scrapbooking and butter cream frosted sugar cookies. Her favorite memories were road trips with Stan on the Honda Valkyrie! She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, Beth to seek out lighthouses from coast to coast, boating and fishing with Mitch and his family and listening to Danny's fascinating African adventure stories.
Karen was incredibly proud to be LeKell's mother, a role she considered one of God's greatest blessings, a bond that lasted until LeKell's passing in 2022.
We know that Karen loved her Lord and Savior and she solidified the authority and authentic Word of God during trips to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, Sunday morning teachings at Snyder Bible Church and fellowship with other Christian women.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Chenoweth; husband, Stanley Blake; her children, Beth (Corrie) Pfost, Danny (Randi) Blake, Mitch (Julie) Blake; her grandchildren, Breanna (Jordan) Sundgren, Kyle Pfost, Eian Blake, Thatcher Blake, and Max Blake; her siblings, Dale (Melissa) Chenoweth, and Troy Chenoweth and many other beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Chenoweth, brothers Carl and Earl Chenoweth, her son Donny, and daughter, LeKell.
A funeral service to honor Karen's life will be held at Snyder Bible Church, 22622 Fisher Ave. in Snyder, on Friday, January 17, at 10:30 a.m. Food and fellowship will follow. Private interment will be at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
Donations can be made to Snyder Bible Church, Karen Blake Memorial Fund.
Karen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her love, spirit, and devotion to her family will forever remain.
