Karen D. Espedal, 76, of Wiggins, CO passed at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush, CO and was greeted in heaven on September 16, 2021.

Karen was born October 24, 1944 in Wenatchee, WA to Karl and Mildred Rextrew. She graduated from Kodiak Alaska High School and completed the nursing program at Community College of Denver, receiving a Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She was a mentor with the CASA program and later retired from the medical field to pursue a career as a postal clerk in Erie, CO. Karen was later promoted to postmaster at the Wiggins, CO post office.

Going to auctions, collecting a variety of treasures, spending time at her Yuma, AZ home and taking pride in her children were highlights of her retirement.

Grateful to have shared in her life are daughter, Cynthia J. Espedal Nord (Thomas) of Greeley; son, Joseph R. Espedal Jr. of Plankinton, SD; and long-time partner, Thomas Parker of Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl & Mildred Rextrew and grandparents, Joseph & Fannie Patrick.

Graveside services will be held in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan on Saturday, November 6 ^th at 11:00 AM.
