Kathleen Marie Cockrell, 59,daughter of Shirley & George Sheets, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014. She was born July 19, 1954, in Denver. Kathleen was previously married to Harold Henry Hudson and had 3 wonderful daughters. That marriage came to an end in 1980 were she then went on to meet the love of her life. Kathleen married Willie Cockrell on July 4, 1987, in Richland, SC. In 2010 the Cockrell's moved to Morgan County. Kathleen was strong willed, independent, and compassionate which she passed down to her daughters. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gambling, cooking, traveling, her animals and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Willie of Log Lane Village; 3 daughters, Shawn Marie Hammond of Portland, OR, Virginia Graham , and her husband, Billie of Vancouver, WA, and Barbara Rodriguez and her husband, Miguel of Fort Morgan; her Father, George Sheets of Llewellyn, NE; 3 brothers, Rush Myers of Arriba, CO, George Christopher Sheets and Kenneth Sheets both of Llewellyn, NE; and 9 grandchildren, Christopher Hammond, Kyle Hammond, Kegan Hammond, Katelyn Hammond, Cole Graham, Jared Graham, Mariah Hudson, Kaiden Smith, and Michael Rodriguez, great grand-child Kaleb Hammond, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Shirley Sheets,one sister Nancy Jones, two brothers Raymond Wayne, and Donald Sheets. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the chapel. Any donations can be made in lieu of American Cancer Society.
