Keith Tracy Kallsen, 59, of Fort Morgan, died Thursday morning, September 3, 2015 from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 34 near Wiggins. He was born on May 31, 1956 to Melvin and Virginia Kallsen in Minneapolis, MN. He was brought home to meet his older brother, Melvin (Kel) Kallsen a few days later. He attended grade school in Minneapolis. At the age of 8, his father graduated from Chiropractic College, the family moved to Grover, CO, where Keith attended grade school. His family moved to Fort Morgan where his father started Kallsen Chiropractic Clinic. Keith attended school and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. Keith married his high school sweetheart, LouAnn Brunkhardt. They celebrated 35 years of marriage last June. Keith worked in various areas of the oilfield and drove semi-trucks for other companies. In 1981, Keith was working for JW Gibson Oil Field Service and was offered and accepted a managerial position for Gillette/Douglas WY area. He and LouAnn moved to Gillette. Two sons, Keith and Louis were born to them while living there. In 1991, they returned to Fort Morgan. Keith started Tracy Automotive, an auto repair shop, in Log Lane Village. He went on to develop Tracy Automotive Rapid Lube, an oil change and lube facility on the corner of Platte Ave and Ensign St. He added a U-Haul franchise and Downtown Sales Used Auto at the same location. He was a partner in The Car Rental Company and Morgan County Flyers. Along with a high school friend, Keith built and opened up a restaurant at that same location. The restaurant was named Ciao Thyme. Keith then accepted a position with Schneider Energy Services in Fort Morgan as a Safety Manager and Swab Rig Manager and a frac consultant. Keith, along with Keith Jr, re-opened up the restaurant in Fort Morgan naming it Smoke & Fire BBQ. Keith loved his family, cooking, flying, hot rods, motorcycles, boats, college football and reading a good biography. He was a music lover. He played drums in the Fort Morgan High School and played bass guitar in a rock band that consisted of his brother, and friends from school. He is survived by his wife, LouAnn; sons, Keith and his wife, Heidi, Louis and his wife, Sara; one brother, Melvin (Kel); and one grandson, Roberto; three nieces, Nicole, Siobhan, and Hollie; one nephew, Justin; in addition, two great nieces, three great nephews; one uncle, Ernest Kallsen and many loving relatives and friends. Keith is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be Thursday, September 10th at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church.
