Obituary

Kenneth Ellis Coffin, 73, lifelong Fort Morgan resident, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush.

He was born in Brush on June 16, 1948 to Maurice & Shirley (Coup) Coffin. Ken attended local schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1966. He married Kay Work on December 27, 1965 in Fort Morgan.

Kenneth worked for the Clatworthy Company in Fort Morgan for several years before his 24-year career at Central Auto Parts where he worked until his retirement.

He was a member of the Fort Morgan United Presbyterian Church where he had also served as an Elder and a Deacon. Ken also belonged to the Morgan Game & Fish Conservation Club as well as numerous bowling associations for nearly 60 years. Besides being an avid bowler, he also enjoyed fishing, and doing renovation projects, as he was a natural handyman.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Coffin of Fort Morgan; his son Alan Coffin and wife, Laura of Haxtun; his three grandchildren, Rece, Drew, and Ella Coffin; his sister, Tonia Coffin of Jacksonville, FL; and his brother, Clinton Coffin and wife, Valerie of Homer, AK.

He was preceded in death his parents; and his sister, Nola Williams.

A memorial service will be Friday, November 19 th at 11:00 AM at the Fort Morgan United Presbyterian Church, 1300 E. Riverview Ave in Fort Morgan. A luncheon will follow the service.
