Kenneth Wayne Cox, 63, was born August 21, 1951 to Fred and Iona Cox at the Fort Morgan Community Hospital. He lived in the Fort Morgan area all of his life. He attended schools there and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1969. Ken was 6 years old when his brother Roger was born. He loved being a big brother. Just short of his 16th birthday his father passed away. When his father was alive, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with him. September 9, 1971 Ken married Carol Hubbard while home on leave from the Army. Shortly after, he was transferred to Germany. He was an MP with the Army ASA with a special clearance. He was honorably discharged in April of 1973. As a teenager Ken worked at the Big T Grocery, and then for a short time with American Beef. After the Army, Ken worked at the Morgan County REA for 7 years. He had a successful floor covering business for 29 years. First he worked with Jim Craig with Craig's Carpet Service. Then he had his own business as KC's Carpet Service. In 2009 he closed the business. Next 5 years he was a custodian at the Wiggins School. He took early retirement in August of 2014 due to health issues. One of Ken's greatest joys was family. His first son was born October 8, 1975. This is Bryan Christopher Cox. On July 3, 1978 his twin sons, Michael Wayne Cox and Mitchel Howard Cox were born. Ken now has 3 fishing buddies. The years went by. The boys got married and had families of their own. Now grandchildren were even more fun. He loved to spend time with each and every one of them. His hobbies were fishing, camping, coin collecting, gardening and family. Ken is survived by his wife Carol; sons, Bryan (Leslie), Mike (Devin), Mitch (Yvette), his brother, Roger, grandchildren David, Kaytlyn (Fort Morgan), Tyler, Sean, Alicia, Megan, Brayden, Kolton (Holyoke), Dylan (Brush), Elizabeth, Devon (Brush), Elizabeth, Naomi (Fort Morgan), nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Iona, and his grandparents. Memorial Services will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:30 am at the 1st Baptist Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.
