Obituary

Kenneth R. Hamlin, 82, longtime area resident, died, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born May 2, 1930 in Spring Valley, Minnesota the youngest of 6 children to Fay and Alice (Nagel) Hamlin. Kenneth moved with his family to Ft. Morgan in 1948 where he graduated from Ft. Morgan High School with the class of 1949. Kenneth worked for his brothers Neil and John at Hamlin Electric Company; then with the city of Ft. Morgan where he was selected employee of the year in 1986. Kenneth was a life member of the local Elks Lodge # 1143. He was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He had a beautiful tenor voice and in his younger days greatly enjoyed being a member of the church choir. Kenneth is survived by five nieces and nephews, Ruth Ann Bruntz, Bill Hamlin, J.A. Hauersperger, Sam Graveel and Judy Watson, ten great nieces and nephews and 15 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Alice, two brothers, Neil and John Hamlin, three sisters, Beryl Graveel, Carol Traverse and Lois Hauersperger and one nephew, George Hamlin. Memorial Services will be Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:30 pm at the United Presbyterian Church in Ft. Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial Gifts may be made to the United Presbyterian Church. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements
