Kenneth Ray Kissler, 73, lifelong area resident, died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. He was born December 29, 1934 in Brush, Colorado to Ray and Lottie (Schott) Kissler. He lived his entire life in the Hillrose and Brush areas. He farmed in his earlier years and still enjoyed keeping up on farming during his retirement. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending farm auction sales. Kenneth enjoyed food, particularly traditional German cuisine. He also liked spending time with his family and friends. Kenneth was known to show up at family and friend's homes to visit and all that knew him, knew that he liked to think of himself as being in charge. Kenneth was a lifelong bachelor but his nieces and nephews were very special to him. Mr. Kissler is survived by his brother Jim Kissler and wife Carol of Hillrose; niece Kathy Brautigam and husband Pete of Hillrose; nephew Jimmy Kissler and wife Margo of Brush; and niece Kari Wooldridge and husband Matt of Hillrose. He is also survived by great nieces Michelle Dahlinger, Katie Medina, Maica Bartsch, and great nephews Coyote Coen and Bryson Wooldridge. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ray and Lottie Kissler and his infant brother. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 2 PM until 5 PM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Funeral services will be held Friday December 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow at Brush Memorial Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in memory of Kenneth Kissler. The Heer Mortuary & Crematory in Brush is in charge of the arrangements.
