Kenneth Jacob Propp or Kenny to his family and friends, aka Uncle Snacks or Grampa, was born January 29, 1931 in Fort Morgan, CO to Jacob Propp and Marie (Bernhardt) Propp.  He grew up on the family farm with his two younger brothers, Jack and Melvin.  His sister, Helen, died as a toddler.  He attended school in Fort Morgan until the 11th grade when he was needed on the family farm.  Kenny was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel Church in Fort Morgan.

In 1950, he enlisted in the Navy and spent two years on a hospital ship in Korea and Japan.  He then spent two years in Hawaii on a cargo ship and was honorably discharged on November 21, 1955.

After his military service he moved back to Fort Morgan to farm with his dad.  In 1957, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Magnussen, who had moved to Fort Morgan from Blair, Nebraska. Kenny and Marilyn married in 1958 in Audubon, Iowa.  They made their home in Fort Morgan where Kenny continued trucking and farming.  This loving marriage brought three beautiful children. They welcomed their first child, Timothy Allen in 1959; Jeana Renee (born in 1960), and Julie Ann (born in 1967) followed, completing their family.  They continued to live on the farm in the Fort Morgan area through the 1960's and early 1970's until the development of irrigation in eastern Colorado provided them different opportunities. Kenny and Marilyn moved their family to Yuma in 1973 to pursue larger farming interests, and, in particular, sugar beets.  It was in the Yuma area where they bought their farm near Hyde, and raised their children through high school.   Kenny served on the Beet Growers Association in both Fort Morgan and Yuma, and was always very proud of being one of the top ten sugar beet producers for several years.  He served on the Equity Co-op board in Yuma for many years.

Kenny was a charter member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Yuma and the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Fort Morgan, and served as a council member for both congregations.  Kenny was a member of the VFW, Elks, and Yuma Lions Club.  The past few years, Kenny was a member of United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan.

Kenny was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the young age of 27 years, and the disease worsened in his late 40's and early 50's to the point where he lost significant use of his hands.  Kenny retired in 1984. They moved to Phoenix in 1986 to enjoy the warmth and sunshine of the Arizona desert, and to be with family, including Julie, Tim, and Marilyn's parents and brother who lived in the Phoenix area. They stayed in Phoenix until 1991 before returning to Colorado, making their home on the farm at Hyde for a few years and then in Fort Morgan where he spent the rest of his natural life with Marilyn.

In spite of his daily pain with arthritis, he always had a smile on his face no matter how much pain he was in.  He loved playing golf and cards, fishing, wood working, and being with family and friends.  Kenny fondly got the nickname Uncle Snacks from his nieces and nephews who adored him; AND because he always had plenty of snacks around!  He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kenny and Marilyn were blessed to have celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage.  Kenny celebrated his 85th birthday in January with his family.  The low point in his life was the loss of his daughter, Jeana, who died in 2001 following a long illness with lupus and breast cancer.  Kenny loved his family, and he had a very close relationship with Julie and her children, Megan and Colin.  Kenny enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Byron Jensen, and especially enjoyed their road trips to Phoenix, Minnesota, Kansas City and Branson. The celebration of his mother, Marie's 100th birthday in 2005 was a special time for Kenny, his brothers and their families.  Marie lived to a month short of 104 years in 2009.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Marie, sister Helen, and his beloved daughter Jeana.  He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Marilyn of Fort Morgan, son Tim Propp and wife Kathie of Portland, Maine, daughter Julie Fix and husband Curt of Wray; eight grandchildren, Megan Jostes and husband Eric, of Windsor, Colin Brauer and wife Kari, of Wray, Jeremy Fix of Wray, Ryan Fix of Wray, and Katie Fix of Highlands Ranch, Mandi Ross and husband Dave of Denver, Becca Propp of Phoenix, AZ and Kaitlyn Propp of Denver; five great granddaughters, Claire, Kendall, and Reese Jostes, Emersyn Brauer, and Addie Ross; son-in-law Stan Brauer of Yuma; brother Melvin Propp and wife Karen of Fort Morgan, brother Jack Propp and wife Kathy of Oshkosh, WI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Byron and Judy Jensen of Burlington and Clint and Audrey Magnussen of Phoenix, AZ along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service is being held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m at the United Methodist Church, 117 E. Bijou Ave., Fort Morgan.
