Kevin Kent
Hawes
Feb 12, 1966 — Feb 14, 2018
Kevin Kent Hawes, 52, of Fort Morgan, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
He was born in Fort Morgan on February 12, 1966 to Ron and Barbara Hawes.
Kevin was well known to the community for his business of UNIQUE EMBROIDERY AND ENGRAVING. At an early age, he worked with his parents in their business, FAYLEE FABRICS, and then in 1985 he pursued his own successful venture into the engraving and embroidery industry in the same location.
Kevin was always doing something---remodeling, creating, designing or helping others. He enjoyed searching for unique antiques and refurbishing or finding missing parts. One of his major joys and talents was building his model train village. Many hours were spent with his dear friend Vicki developing mines, churches, hotels, farms, etc. with all the sound effects and moving parts! His talents were amazing and he would tackle anything.
Kevin is preceded in death by his brother, Harlynn.
He is survived by parents Ron and Barbara Hawes, brothers, Dennis (Connie), Eldon (Karen), and sisters, Marilynn (Ken) Dalton, Crystal (Stan) Ramey, sister-in-law, Sherry Hawes, and best friend, Vicki Davis. He had numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Kevin.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Baker Elementary School Gymnasium. Services will conclude at the school. There will be a private inurnment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Kevin's name in care of the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
