Kristi Kizer, 63, of Ft Morgan, Colorado, passed away on December 15, 2022.  She was born in Pensacola, Florida, to Roger and Violet Mast Edson.

After several moves, her family settled in Aubrey, Texas, where Kristi graduated salutatorian from Aubrey High School in 1977.  She attended Aladdin Beauty College in Denton, Texas, then instructor school at ITS Academy of Beauty.  She was a hair stylist for 23 years working at JC Penney and The Rusty Razor.

She met the love of her life, Robert Doyle Cain, in junior high school in Irving, Texas, and they were married in 2005 by Elvis at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She enjoyed sewing, raising miniature long-haired dachshunds, country and western dancing, and watching day-time soap operas.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren – Jett McElya; Bentley, Baker, and Blakely Kizer; and step-grandchildren – Braiden, Landry, and Jackson Weed, and Dakota and Jaeci Weimar.

Her loved ones include her spouse of 17 years, Robert Doyle Cain, son Brandon McElya of The Colony, Texas; daughter Kassi McElya of Denton, Texas; son Kristian Kizer (Ashley) of Greeley, Colorado; son Kade Kizer of Denton, Texas; sisters Carrie Knutsen (Todd) of Littleton, Colorado, and Mindi Ferguson (Joe) of Aubrey, Texas; stepdaughters Michelle Weed (Bubba) and Martha Weimar (Danny) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and as "Mom" and "Mem" to her children and grandchildren.

Please think of her while drinking a glass of ginger ale, eating a plate of Chinese orange chicken, and watching General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to NAMI (National Association of Mental Illness) or a favorite charity.
