Kurtis Jess Groves, 29, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Chicago, IL.  He was born on August 28, 1987 in Fort Morgan, CO to Gary and June Groves.

Kurtis lived in Fort Morgan most of his life, until three years ago when he moved to Winchester, IL, where he lived with his girlfriend and her two children. He graduated from Weldona High School in Weldona, CO.  Kurtis enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and loved spending time with his family.

He was survived by his mother, June Stanley; one sister, Wendi (Chris) Brown; two brothers, Glen and Sean Groves; grandparents, Gale and Joyce Custer, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Groves, grandparents, Art Young, and Jess and Alyce Groves.

Memorial services will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan, with interment to follow immediately at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
