Obituary

Larry I. Atwood, 54, of Brush, died suddenly Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in the emergency room of the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born September 4, 1952, in Brush, to Ivan & Florence Atwood. Larry graduated from Brush High School in 1970. Following graduation, Larry worked at Coors Brewery in Golden, Pawnee Power Plant near Brush and at the time of his death he owned & operated his own tree trimming business, Colorado Tree Service. One of his specialties was cleaning up train derailments and recycling material. His honesty, generosity and willingness to please was shown through his personality in his private and business life. Larry's favorite time of the year was summer when he could ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed trips through the Black Hills of South Dakota and spending time with his grandson, Vinny. His joy of being a grandfather was increased by the addition of Molly Ann. He was a member of the Morgan County Moose Lodge, and a former member of the Cattlemen's Club. Larry was an honest man and will be missed. Survivors include his family, Bobbe, Vince & Becci, Vinson and Molly, Kay & Joe Copple, Ella, Ronald W. Brown, James Ivan and Angelena Copple, Joey W., Jimmy L, Heather L, Jonathan E. Crystal; members of the Holmes family and the Erickson families; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky, his nephew, Douglas, niece, Lindsay, and his parents. A potluck Celebration of Life service for Larry will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at 12:00 noon at the Jaycee Building in the VFW Park in Brush. Everyone is asked to come and share their story about Larry.
