Laurence Ely, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and long-time farmer and rancher passed away on November 29th, 2023.Laurence lived in the Gary/Brush area all his life. He met his lifelong sweetheart Kathleen at a dance and the rest was history. Together they had 6 children.

He worked as a mechanic for CDOT for 21 years before he "retired". He quickly busied himself with the farm and ranch.

Laurence was nothing short of a hero to many, always there when he was called upon. His knowledge of mechanics, farming, and ranching was unparalleled.

His true pleasure in life was spending time with his family.  A visit from his Grandkids would always brighten his day and seeing his great-grandchildren brought a twinkle to his eye.

He is missed and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our family will rest easy knowing that the wheat harvest in heaven will be in good hands.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Marjorie Ely, two sisters Mary Elaine Rampton and Doris Keefer, and one brother Donald Ely.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Ely of Brush, his six children, Jerry (Peggy) Ely of Ft. Collins, Linda Ely of Brush, Mike (Amy) Ely of Brush, Joe (Suzanne) Ely of Brush, Andy (Cyndi) Ely of Brush, & Sarah Walker of Brush, 12 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
