Laurie Janae Teter, 37, was found deceased on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in rural Morgan County after being reported missing on September 2, 2015. She was born August 14, 1978, in Fort Morgan. Laurie graduated from Brush High School in 1996. She had worked at several jobs including 7-11 and Russell Scofield Construction Company. She enjoyed collecting arrowheads and water-color artistic paining. Survivors include her Mother, Bren Swopes and her partner Russell Scofield of Brush; 2 children, Destiny Montano and Gregory Montano both of Hillrose; 1 sister, Jessica Teter- Jones of Fort Morgan; 1 granddaughter, Aerith Montano; and her grandmother, Florence Swopes of Brush. A memorial gathering to release balloons will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the Wildlife Area on Dodd Bridge Road, just North of the South Platte River. The Heer Mortuary was entrusted with cremation arrangements.
