LaWanda Beatrice Whetzel, 83, longtime area resident, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born January 2, 1928 in Wilson, Oklahoma. She moved to Morgan County from Williston, North Dakota in 1958. LaWanda was a homemaker. She loved her family and they were very important to her. Survivors include two daughters, Janice K. Weimer and Eva Graham both of Ft. Morgan, one son, John L. Martin of Brush, one sister, Bennie Harris of Escondido, California, one brother, Kenneth Bell of San Antonio, Texas and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Margaret Martin. At her request there are no services scheduled at this time. Memorial Gifts may be given to either Autism Research or the Humane Society. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
