Obituary

Leah Mohrlang, 92, longtime area resident, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Leah was born November 28, 1916 in Brush, Colorado to Conrad and Anna (Hoffman) Leis. She married Jacob Mohrlang Jr. on May 28, 1939 in Hillrose. He died in 1985. Leah lived most of her life in Brush and Hillrose except for about eight or nine years that she lived in Greeley. Leah was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and working in her flower garden. Leah loved her family and especially loved babysitting for her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Janyce Warboys of Fort Morgan, four sons, Herb Mohrlang of Harlingen, Texas, Ron Mohrlang of Greeley, Dennis Mohrlang of Greeley and Marlin Mohrlang of Fort Collins, three sisters, Lydia Cook of Fort Morgan, Pearl Holmes of Brush and Elvina Evans of Arvada, one brother, Clarence Leis of Brush, eleven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob, brothers, Fred, Adolf, Herbert, Dave, Harold "Shorty" and Paul Leis and sisters, infant sister Lydia Leis and Ruth Nuss. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 2 until 6 PM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Beehive Assisted Living Center in Brush or to the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Brush is in charge of the arrangements.
