Obituary

Lee W. Kemp, 70, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush following his battle with cancer. He was born November 8, 1944 in Cedar Rapids, IA, to John & Faye Kemp. Lee married Sandra Nidey on June 27, 1964, in Williamsburg, IA. After living in Iowa for a short period of time, the Kemp family moved to the Denver area where Lee worked as a machine operator for Coors Glass Plant for 22 years. After retiring, Lee & Sandra moved to Fort Morgan. Lee enjoyed riding his bicycle, going out for lunch, and walking his dog, Klyde. He will be remembered by many for his sense of humor and frequently wearing his M & M shirts. His favorite time was spent with his family. Lee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Sandra, his children, Kristie Kemp of Thornton, CO, Kathie Kemp of Hudson, CO and Jamie Kemp and his wife Jennifer of Littleton; his 2 grandchildren, Adam & Andrea; his brother, Bob Kemp of Indiana; and 2 sisters, Sharon Woodward of Gainesville, VA and Pat Ports of Westerville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the church. A private burial will be in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel on Friday from 5 - 7 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to County Express, Trinity School Little Lambs Preschool, or to Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center all c/o the Heer Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Avenue in Fort Morgan, CO.
