Lela B. Rhamy, daughter of Jim and Ruth Mosier Rhamy, was born December 4, 1930 at Gem Kansas. Her parents moved to a farm northwest of Cope, Colorado in April 1931. She graduated from Palmer Valley Grade School, Cope High School, and attended Morgan Community College. Marrying Harold L. Lanning September 25, 1949, she was an active partner in their farming operation in eastern Colorado until they retired and moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1992. During that time she additionally sold Amway and Avon products. She was an active member of Bethel Union Church, north of Anton, Colorado, Immanuel Evangelical Church of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and the Gideon Auxiliary in eastern Colorado. Over the years she produced many beautiful quilts, and after moving to Fort Morgan developed a strong interest in genealogy and doll making. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ruth Rhamy, sisters Maxine Herron and Otrella Johnson and their husbands Bob Herron and Ennis Johnson, one brother, Victor Rhamy, and one daughter, Beryl Denise Lanning. A loving wife and mother, she leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Harold Lanning of Fort Morgan; son Stephen Harold Lanning and Nancy Flagle of Phoenix, Arizona; daughters CeLena Lanning Morris of Erie, Colorado and Crystal Lanning Hedberg and husband Bill Hedberg of Greeley, Colorado; three wonderful grandchildren, Jason Lanning of Phoenix, Arizona, William Hedberg of Berkeley, California, and Merideth Hedberg of Fort Collins, Colorado; one sister, Vera Gelbach and husband Herman of Seattle, Washngton, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3rd from 6 – 8 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Friday, November 4th at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will be in the Yuma Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Friday.
