Obituary

Leland "Dale" Gorrell, 82, longtime area resident, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. He was born September 15, 1934 in Kanorado, Kansas to Samuel & Velma Gorrell.

Dale married Rose Yost on January 22, 1956 in Fort Morgan. He was active on the bowling league and was the secretary treasurer of the service league as well as the Cub Master for the Cub Scout Troop 22. Dale enjoyed playing softball, golf, working in the yard and doing projects in the house. He really enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Dale worked at the Safeway Grocery Store in Fort Morgan for 27 1/2 years before he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Rose of Fort Morgan; children, Jody Taylor (Ed) of Rio Rancho, NM, Michael Gorrell of Fort Morgan; five grandchildren, Melissa Olson (D.J.) of Mesa, AZ, Jacqlyn Jennings (Pat) of Loveland, Matthew Gorrell (Alison) of Brush, Wendi Wood of Fort Morgan, and Amber Schroetlin of Fort Collins, and eleven great grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bryan Gorrell and his sister, Iris Gorrell.

A Celebration of Life, potluck style, will be held on Monday, January 30th, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at the Immanuel Evangelical Church, 318 W. 7th Ave., Fort Morgan, CO.
