LeRoy G. "Rockie" Reagan, 85, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2006, at Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan. He was born November 30, 1921, in Staten Island, NY, to Thomas and Suzanne Reagan. He was raised on Staten Island and graduated from McKee Vocational High School in 1939. From April 1940 to January 1941, Rockie served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He then enlisted in the US Army Air Corps on December 20, 1941, and served in the European Theater of Operations from February, 1944 until August, 1945. On June 6, 1945, Rocky transferred to the US Army Infantry as a 2nd lieutenant. He was later a participant in the glider program that was held North of Fort Morgan. Rockie received the EAME Ribbon and one Bronze Service Star and the EAME Ribbon with 3 battle stars. He was discharged from the US Army on October 29, 1945, and moved to Fort Morgan, where he worked as a Master Barber for 56 years, retiring in 2003 due to health related problems. He was a life member of the BPOE "Elks, and served as Exalted Ruler in 1963 – 64. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving at the local Post 2551. He was a member of St. Helena's Catholic Church and served as a CYO leader for years. Survivors include his wife, Theresa, whom he married September 14, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush; 1 daughter, Patricia Church, 1 granddaughter, Brittany Blanton, and 3 great granddaughters, Patricia, Samantha, and Rennick all of Abilene, TX; his brother, Gerard Reagan of Bethlehem , PA. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Vincent & Raymond, 1 sister, Mildred Schubert, and his parents. Rosary and Vigil service will be Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at 7:00 PM at St. Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 6, at 10:30 AM at St. Helena Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Lung Association or the charity of the donor's choice. ####
