Leroy has gone to join his wife, Bonnie Teter and daughter, Chris Gerk. He passed away peacefully at his home in Brush, surrounded by family, on July 11, 2025. Alvin 'Leroy' Teter was born August 24, 1940, in Brush, the son of Gale and Virginia Teter. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Leroy lived most of his life in Brush, Colorado and attended Brush Highschool. After knowing each other as children, Leroy saw a teenage Bonnie walking down Main Street in Brush one day and asked her if shed like to ride to Morgan with him. That was the beginning of their relationship and he married the love of his life, Bonnie Lee McEachern on August 19, 1961. Together, they had three children, Mark, Chris and Sara. In 1965, he started Teter Oilfield Co. with his father and brothers and Teter and Son Oilfield Co. in 1991 with his son Mark. He was known as a hardworker and dedicated family man. Leroy and Bonnie loved to travel all over the country, in their RV and on his motorcycle, going to concerts, county fairs and camping trips with their grandkids and friends.
Leroy is survived by his son Mark Teter, daughter Sara Evans, son-in-law Brad Gerk. Grandchildren Jessica Jones, Talia (Cris) Charley, Kyla Araujo, Chandler Gerk, Jacklyn Gerk, Katelyn Gerk, David (Lanie) Evans, Jade Evans and Chloe Evans. Great grandchildren Aubrey, Christian, Gavin, Eva, Franklin, Avett, Austin and baby Leroy Carson Evans due in September this year. Siblings Albert (Bonnie) Teter, Doug (Bev) Teter, Gayleen Gilliland, Ginger (Larry) Urbach, Nancy (Kenny) Pottorf, Roger (Jan) Teter, Roberta Teter and Judy (Dennis) Queen.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gale and Virginia Teter, wife Bonnie Teter, daughter Chris Gerk, daughter-in-law Lynné Teter, sister Dorothy Koehler, and brothers-in-law Herb Koehler and Rich Gilliland.
Visitation will be at Brush United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 10AM and funeral services will begin at 11AM. Internment will be at 2:30PM at the Walks Camp Methodist Cemetery north of Limon.
