Letha Anna Meyer, 83, longtime area resident, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. Letha was born November 19, 1924 in Pittsburg, Kansas to John and Letha (Roberts) Parsons. Letha's mother died when she was a young child. Her father later married Margaret (Fritts), who helped raise her. Letha married Solomon Meyer on June 5, 1948 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He died in 1990. Letha was an active member of the United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was on several committees at church. She taught piano lessons, and enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Survivors include, four daughters, Karen Gerken and Marsha Kingcade both of Ft. Morgan, Kay Price of Skokie, Illinois and Nancy Abbott of Gurnee, Illinois, three brothers, Ron Parsons of Pittsburg, Kansas, Loren Parsons of Seattle, Washington and Bill Parsons of Sacramento, California, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Solomon who died in 1990, great grandson, Samuel Rees, brother Larry Parsons and her step-mother, Margaret Parsons. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
